Proceeds from new book donated to Thistle

Alan Ormiston has kindly chosen to donate proceeds of his new poetry book, 'Awake'.

Alan Ormiston will be donating the proceeds of his new poetry book, Awake, to Thistle and Penumbra. Here, he describes the inspiration behind his book:

"A loved one is working through their struggle with mental illness. I waited for them in the car and cafes, as they attended appointments and got help. I scribbled down lines of words to capture conversations, thoughts and perspectives. This helped me, as I thought about what to say and what to do for the best.

The words turned into a short series of poems. They reflect love and hope. I thought if the poems are shared it could help someone else who is going through a difficult time and also help those around who love, care for them.

Any money made from the sales of this poetry book will be shared between Thistle and Penumbra, who were there to provide support when it was most needed. A hard copy of the book can be ordered online from AH Stockwell or Amazon and an e-book version will be available soon."
