Training Others in Personal Outcomes Approaches
About the course
This practice-based course is for health and care practitioners who want to be part of a growing network of trainers, supporting teams and organisations. It will develop skills to influence, coach and facilitate and further discuss the importance of modelling a person-centred, personal outcomes and asset-based approach throughout the whole system. Participants will learn how to support service improvements through the application of small changes to systems and processes and how this can also be applied to meetings, supervision, reflective practice.
Sessions include:
Module 1 Introduction to personal outcomes and asset-based approaches within health and social care
Module 2 Relational and Facilitative Approaches
Module 3 Brief Conversational Skills which support a Personal Outcomes and asset based approach
Module 4 Reflective Practice
Module 5 Advanced Facilitative Approaches: Group dynamics
Module 6 Practical Approaches to Embedding and Sustaining Change in Services
Module 7 Negotiating and Agreeing Training Contracts. Designing Training Courses

Senior practitioners within health and care sectors with dedicated time to develop others and support developments to services through the application of small changes. It might also be relevant to those looking to deliver Thistle’s Good Conversations Practice Development course.

Course outcomes
Practitioners will have the knowledge, confidence and skills to deliver Good Conversations training and to role model the approach in their team and support small changes to systems and processes which support a Personal Outcomes Approach.
