Julie Sees Life Differently

At Thistle, we believe that we See Life Differently, with a focus on people – the people we support and our colleagues – at the very heart of our approach.

Thistle Coach and Senior Leader, Julie Gardner, was invited to share Thistle’s stories about what the Covid-19 crisis has meant for people’s outcomes by the Personal Outcomes Network.

Our stories and those of others from a range of sectors have been collated into an online resource, ‘A Shared Experience’, by IRISS (The Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services). The resource presents a detailed analysis of the stories and draws out implications to inform practice, policy and recovery.

Asked about the project, Julie said “It made me pause and reflect on what we’ve been doing during the pandemic. My hope is that the stories will resonate with people and continue an important conversation, particularly around how we use the learning as we move into the pandemic recovery period. I think the whole resource is a real treasure trove of learning for us all”

We’re delighted to share these audio clip stories as part of Julie’s See Life Differently series here on our blog. In the first of these, Julie discusses the importance of focussing on personal outcomes.
